Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve
Event Details
Prairie Flowers on the Plateau Walk! Bunchgrass prairie and savannah were once California’s largest ecosystem. Come explore one of the finest examples remaining in the state while we experience open vistas, wildflowers, and rare Engelmann oak woodland. We’ll witness the resurgence of a landscape recently altered by fire and learn how people have used and affected the area’s resources for centuries.
An easy-to-moderate hike will cover three miles in three hours and illustrate why the Santa Rosa Plateau is one of the most biologically diverse places in the state.
